Forward Deployed Engineer

We are seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to deploy and run AXIOM for clinical supply chain clients. You will build and ship features across Next.js, React, TypeScript and Azure, lead client UAT and releases, and build secure, repeatable cloud environments using Terraform and Azure DevOps.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with Clients

  • Be the trusted technical lead for client supply chain, clinical operations and IT teams, from kickoff through go-live and beyond.

  • Lead client UAT, deployments and release communications. Explain issues clearly, manage expectations, and push back on scope politely when needed.

  • Bring field insight back to the product team: spot repeating patterns, propose new capabilities, and turn one-off fixes into reusable product features.

Build and Ship the Product

  • Build and release AXIOM web app features in Next.js, React and TypeScript, including cascading filters, row-level security, AI Briefing panels, guided tours and product fixes.

  • Connect Gold-layer tables and views to APIs, filters and embedded Power BI reports, with the right identity and row-level security.

  • Merge per-client web app copies into one configurable, multi-client codebase.

Make Deployments Repeatable and Secure

  • Provision client environments with Terraform, including resource groups, Entra ID app registrations, Key Vault, storage, private-endpoint networking, App Service and Container Apps.

  • Build and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for the web app, Fabric items, SQL schema, Power BI and Power Apps, including service connections, secrets and approval gates.

  • Add monitoring with Application Insights, Log Analytics and alerts, and fix what it finds.

  • Close security and hygiene gaps through least-privilege RBAC, Conditional Access, tagging, cost controls and cleanup of unused resources.

  • Keep runbooks accurate, follow them consistently, and improve them when a step is wrong.

Required Technical Skills and Experience

Supply Chain and Domain Expertise

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in supply chain analytics or supply chain technology.

  • Working knowledge of supply chain concepts such as demand forecasting, inventory and safety stock, distribution and resupply, lead times and expiry management.

Engineering Skills

  • 5+ years building and running production software on Azure, including App Service, Container Apps, Functions, Key Vault, Entra ID, storage and networking.

  • Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform.

  • CI/CD experience with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, including YAML pipelines, environments, approvals and secret handling.

  • Experience with Docker and container registries.

  • Strong TypeScript and React skills; Next.js experience is a plus.

  • Good SQL skills and comfort working with Azure SQL and reading data models.

  • Experience with Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search or other LLM-backed features in production.

Leadership and Communication Skills

  • A track record of leading client-facing technical work end to end and owning outcomes rather than tasks.

  • Clear communication with audiences ranging from senior clinical supply stakeholders to cloud engineers, both in writing and in meetings.

  • Calm under pressure during go-lives and escalations, with good judgment on when to escalate and when to act.

  • Ability to write clear technical documentation and keep it current.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Pharmaceutical, biotech or clinical supply chain experience, including clinical trial supply, IRT/RTSM, depots, comparators, packaging and labeling, or GxP-regulated environments.

  • Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse, pipelines, deployment pipelines and Git integration, or experience with Databricks / Synapse.

  • Power BI embedding, including Power BI Client, service principals and row-level security.

  • Power Platform ALM experience.

  • Prior experience in a forward-deployed, solutions engineering or technical consulting role at a SaaS or product company.

  • Relevant certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-400, DP-600, CPIM or CSCP.
